Enterprise Account Manager
About Us
Vineyard Growth is a boutique local SEO agency. We're small on purpose. Our enterprise clients get senior attention instead of a pod of junior coordinators reading from a script, and that's the whole reason they stay.
Production work — audits, on-page, citations, content, technical fixes — runs through a bench of contractors we've worked with for years. They're good, and they're not going anywhere. What we don't have is one person who owns the client relationship end to end.
That's this job.
The Role
You are the client's person. When they have a question, a complaint, a new stakeholder, a budget review, or a bad month in the rankings, they call you. You know their business, their org chart, their internal politics, and what their boss is getting measured on.
This is not a delivery role. You will not be writing meta descriptions at 11pm. You will be reading a room, spotting a renewal risk six weeks before it shows up in an email, and doing something about it.
What that looks like day to day:
- Owning a book of enterprise accounts as the primary point of contact
- Running QBRs and monthly check-ins that clients actually want to attend
- Translating contractor output into business outcomes the client's CFO understands
- Managing scope, expectations, and the occasional uncomfortable conversation about both
- Catching churn signals early — a quiet client, a new VP of Marketing, a missed invoice — and getting in front of them
- Coordinating contractors against client timelines and holding the line on quality
- Finding expansion opportunities inside existing accounts
Who This Is For
We're hiring for experience, not potential. This is a role for someone who has already made every mistake there is to make in account management and has the scar tissue to prove it.
You probably have:
- 3+ years managing client relationships, ideally at an agency or in a service business with recurring revenue
- Direct experience owning retention or renewal numbers, and the track record to talk about them specifically
- Enough SEO literacy to hold a real conversation about rankings, local pack visibility, and attribution — you don't need to do the work, but you can't be bluffing
- Comfort dealing with senior stakeholders who are skeptical, busy, or both
- A history of moving without being told to
That last one matters most. The people who do well here notice a problem and have already started fixing it by the time anyone asks. If your instinct when an account goes sideways is to wait for direction, this will be a bad fit for both of us.
Who This Isn't For
- Anyone who needs a playbook for every situation
- Anyone who wants to grow into the role — we don't have the runway to train this
- Anyone who goes quiet when a client is unhappy
Compensation and logistics
- 100 to 120k per year
- Reports directly to the owner
- Health insurance
How To Apply
Send a résumé and a short note to [email]. In the note, tell me about one account you saved and one you lost. I'm more interested in the second story.

SEO Manager (HR Title: SEO Strategist III)
Our Take:Worth noting the LinkedIn title and SMU's own internal HR title don't match (Manager vs. Strategist III), a useful thing to clarify at interview. Real scale behind it: a university serving roughly 12,000 students across 80+ countries.
