Do you have a passion for SEO and a curiosity for how AI is reshaping search? Can you show us how your strategies not only rank, but adapt to the next era of search powered by Google’s AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, and beyond?

About the Company

Join a high-performing, innovation-focused team at our results-driven digital marketing agency—a Google Premier Partner, Meta Business Partner, and Microsoft Advertising Partner.

Our integrated marketing solutions drive measurable ROI for clients across eCommerce, SaaS, Finance, Healthcare, and Education, with a focus on profit growth, not vanity metrics.

About the Role

We’re looking for an AI-forward SEO Account Manager who thrives on curiosity, experimentation, and collaboration—and who’s ready to lead clients into the future of search, including:

  • Lead SEO strategy that drives ROI across both traditional and AI-powered search for clients (Google, Gemini, ChatGPT, etc.).
  • Stay proactive on algorithm updates, AI trends, and emerging search technologies.
  • Conduct keyword + prompt research to align content with real search intent in both SERPs and generative engines.
  • Develop content calendars using topic modeling, entity mapping, and trend forecasting.
  • Optimize content and metadata for visibility in organic search and AI experiences.
  • Audit technical SEO/ GEO fundamentals along with schema to enhance crawlability, speed, and structured data performance.
  • Drive conversion rate optimization using behavioral analytics.
  • Leverage integrated tools (GA4, GSC, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, GEO tracking platforms) for performance insights.
  • Report clearly on SEO + GEO visibility, connecting initiatives to tangible ROI.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Paid Search, Social, and CRO teams for unified, data-driven results.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in a dual role as both an SEO / GEO strategist and point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Own the overall SEO / GEO strategy and efficient day-to-day management of assigned SEO / GEO accounts, focusing on client gross profit growth.
  • Monitor and analyze brand presence in generative results, using GEO tracking tools to identify brand mentions, competitor share of voice, and emerging content opportunities, and outreach.
  • Develop prompt-based optimization strategies that align brand content with the way users query AI engines.
  • Partner with Analytics and Web Development teams to ensure technical / AI readiness—covering site health, tracking, analytics integration, and landing page optimization.
  • Report on key performance indicators and present them effectively to clients and senior management.
  • Work closely with Lead Strategists to refine account roadmaps and maintain alignment with long-term objectives.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience executing successful SEO strategies with a focus on content strategy and on-page optimizations.
  • A true practitioner and pioneer—curious, adaptable, and unafraid to test, learn, and lead in the emerging Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) space.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices, search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and how to optimize for AI-powered search engines in a variety of industries and verticals.
  • Proven experience using tools like GA4, SEMRush, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Moz, SpyFu, Screaming Frog, and CMS like WordPress and WebFlow (bonus points for experience with product feed optimization and eCommerce CMS like Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, etc.)
  • Self-motivation, autonomy and a strong sense of accountability to bring success to your clients in a remote environment.
  • Capacity to handle multiple ongoing projects and deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong written and oral communication skills.

Compensation

  • $80,000 – $90,000 base salary
  • 100% remote work environment
  • Unlimited PTO policy
  • 11 paid company holidays
  • Flexible medical insurance benefits through an ICHRA plan
  • Free telehealth services
  • 401(K) with 3% company match
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Bonus opportunities and annual salary reviews
  • Equipment, internet, and wellness stipends
  • Strong work/life balance support and flexible schedules

Interview Process

  • A 30 to 45-minute video interview with our internal Talent Acquisition Manager.
  • An untimed, technical skills assessment.
  • A 1-hour video interview with Hiring Managers on the SEO team.

Our Take:An unusual sector for this niche: Cresset is a multi-family office and private investment firm building out organic and AEO/GEO capability, worth a look if you want financial services exposure. Associate Director level, listed comp band looked malformed in the scrape so we've left salary blank rather than show a wrong number.

Our Take:Agency role, not in-house: you're leading SEO/GEO across multiple enterprise clients at once, not owning one brand's strategy. Good fit if you want breadth and client-facing work over deep ownership of a single narrative.

AI Replacement Risk, explained

We rate every role on how much of the day-to-day work could plausibly be done by current AI tools within the next year or two. It's a judgment call, not a hard science, based on three questions:

Task repeatability — is the work mostly repeatable execution (drafting, formatting, routine audits), or judgment-heavy (strategy, negotiation, prioritization)?
Precedent — are AI tools already doing a meaningful chunk of this work well today, in production, somewhere?
Accountability — does the role carry a decision or relationship someone has to own, not just an output that has to exist?

LOW

Mostly judgment, negotiation, or ownership work. AI assists, it doesn't replace.

MED

A real mix of judgment and repeatable execution. Expect the repeatable half to keep shrinking.

HIGH

Mostly production or output work, with real AI precedent already in the wild.

This is our own read, not a scientific index. Treat it as a conversation starter before you apply, not a scorecard.
