- Ability to translate complex quantitative findings into clear, compelling narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to defend analytical conclusions and communicate recommendations confidently.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and building measurement frameworks or research functions from the ground up.
- Genuine curiosity about e-commerce, marketing, analytics, consumer behavior, and the factors influencing how shoppers and algorithms make decisions.
- External recognition for research, such as press coverage, published whitepapers, industry benchmarks, or conference presentations, is a plus.
- Customer-facing, consulting, or advisory experience is preferred, particularly the ability to present research findings and recommendations directly to customers.
- Familiarity with the AEO/GEO tooling ecosystem and current approaches to measuring AI visibility is desirable.
- Experience working in e-commerce, martech, search, or closely with retail brands and product data is a plus.

Product Manager, SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)
Our Take:A product management title, not a marketing one, so this likely reports through product rather than marketing, a different org and skillset ask than most roles on this board.
Principal Product Manager - Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)
Our Take:A genuinely rare framing: Expedia treating AEO as a dedicated Principal Product Manager discipline rather than a marketing function, with comp to match at $224K-$313.5K. Worth a look if you want to work on the product side of AI search rather than the content or strategy side.
AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) Manager
Our Take:A genuinely dedicated AEO title, not SEO with AEO bolted on, at a Chicago B2B agency. Marcel Digital has a second, SEO-titled opening posted at the same time, so this looks like a real team build-out rather than a one-off req. Hybrid, Chicagoland candidates only.
